CVR Energy, a Texas-based refiner owned by Carl Icahn, is preparing an offer forDelek U.S. Holdings, a refiner in Arkansas and Texas, according to The New York Post. Read more.

FIMI is in advanced discussions to acquire the Israeli subsidiary of British security giant G4S, according to Haaretz. The deal could reportedly be valued at $104.9 million. Read more. 

First Reserve portfolio company Saddle Barnett Resources has agreed to acquire the interests of Chesapeake Energy Corporation (NYSE: CHK) in the Barnett Shale operating area in North Texas. www.chk.com/

 20/20 GeneSytems Inc., a Rockville, Md.-based cancer diagnostics startup “at the intersection of tumor biomarker diagnostics and big-data healthcare analytics,” has raised $4.5 million in new Series A funding from firms like Ping An Ventures.

• Appthority, a San Francisco-based provider of mobile application risk management solutions, has raised $10 million in Series B funding. Blue Coat Systems and Knollwood Investment Advisory were joined by return backers U.S. Venture Partners and Venrock.

• CourseHorse, a New York-based online platform for finding and enrolling in classes, has raised $4 million in VC funding from Red Ventures. Read more.

App Annie, a San Francisco-based provider of data on mobile apps, has raised $63 million in new venture capital and debt financing. Greenspring Associatesled the equity tranche, and was joined by return backers e.Ventures, Greycroft Partners, Institutional Venture Partners, and Sequoia Capital.Silicon Valley Bank provided the debt financing. In related news, the company named NetSuite CEO Zach Nelson to its board of directors.

 

• Babylon Health, a UK-based mobile healthcare consultation app, has raised $25 million in Series A funding. AB Kinnevik led the round, and was joined by return backers like Hoxton Ventures. Individual investors include Demis Hassabis and Mustafa Suleyman, the founders of AI company Deepmind (acquired by Google).

• Boomerang Commerce, a Santa Clara, Calif.-based retail price optimization startup, has raised $12 million in Series B funding. Shasta Ventures led the round, and was joined by return backers Madrona Venture Group and Trinity Ventures.

• Call9, a Palo Alto, Calif.-based telemedicine startup, has raised $10 million in Series A funding led by Index Ventures.

• Care24, an Indian home healthcare startup, has raised $4 million in Series A funding from SAIF Partners.

• CarWow, a London-based new car purchasing platform, has raised 12.5 million in Series B funding. Accel led the round, and was joined by return backers investors Balderton Capital, Samos Investments and Episode 1 Ventures.

• Everlaw Inc., a Berkeley, Calif.-based legal technology startup, has raised $8.1 million in Series A funding led by Andreessen Horowitz.

• Euclid Analytics, a San Francisco-based provider of location analytics, has raised $20 million in Series C funding. Cox Enterprises led the round, and was joined by Groupe Arnault, Gold Sky Capital and return backers Benchmark Capital, NEA and Harrison Metal.

• Fugue (f.k.a. Luminal), a Frederick, Md.-based provider of an infrastructure-level operating system for cloud computing, has raised $20 million in Series C funding.NEA led the round, and was joined by return backer Core Capital. www.fugue.co

• Inturn, a New York-based 2B SaaS platform that helps brands and retailers sell and purchase off-price inventory, has raised $9.7 million in Series A funding. Novel TMT Ventures led the round, and was joined by Benvolio Group, Shuco LLC,  Bam Ventures and return backers Forerunner Ventures, Lerer Hippeau Ventures and T5 Capital.

• Looker, a Santa Cruz, Calif.-based provider of business intelligence software, has raised $48 million in Series C funding. Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers led the round, and was joined by return backers Redpoint Ventures, Meritech Capital Partners and Sapphire Ventures.

• MindTouch, a San Diego-based provider of cloud-based answers to consumer product questions, has raised $12 million in new VC funding. PeakSpan Capitalled the round, and was joined by SK Ventures and SAP.

• Mitu, a Los Angeles-based multi-channel digital media company dedicated to content for young Latinos, has raised $27 million in Series C funding. AwesomenessTV, WPP Digital and Verizon were joined by return backers like Upfront Ventures.

• Moltin, a Mountain View, Calif.-based provider of an “API-based framework that allows developers to quickly deploy customizable e-commerce solutions,” has raised $2 million in seed funding co-led by Frontline Ventures and Gil Dibner‘s AngelList Syndicate. www.moltin.com

• PlaceIQ, a Boulder, Colo.-based provider of hyper-local ad targeting solutions, has raised $25 million in Series D funding. Harmony Partners led the round, and was joined by fellow return backers Iris Capital, IA Venture Partners, U.S. Venture Partners and Valhalla Partners. www.placeiq.com

• Rhythm Superfoods, an Austin, Texas-based provider of organic and non-GMO plant-based superfood snacks, has raised $3 million in Series C funding from 301 Inc., the new corporate VC unit of General Mills (NYSE: GIS).

• Taulia Inc., a San Francisco-based financial supply chain company, has raised $46 million in Series E funding. Zouk Capital led the round, and was joined by return backers like DAG Ventures, Harbor Pacific Capital, Matrix Partners, QuestMark Partners and Trinity Ventures. Taulia also announced that it has hired John Varughese, previously a partner in the advisory business of Perella Weinberg Partners, as CFO. www.taulia.com

• VeloCloud Networks Inc., a Mountain View, Calif.-based provider of cloud-based WAN solutions, has raised $27 million in Series C funding. March Capital Partners and Cisco Systems were joined by return backers like NEA and Venrock.

Greycroft Partners led the round, and was joined by Comcast Ventures, Crosscut Ventures, Betaworks, Greylock, former NBA commissioner David Stern and Walking Deadcreator Robert Kirkman.

Aura Biosciences, a Cambridge, Mass.-based developer of nano-enabled drug delivery systems, has raised $3.23 million in new VC funding from undisclosed investors, according to a regulatory filing.www.aurabiosciences.com

bMobilized, a New York-based mobile technology startup, has raised an additional $2.5 million in series A funding from Norway’s Alliance Venture, Investinor and Alden AS, which together invested $1.5 million in the startup last April. bMobilized.com

GoBalto Inc., a San Francisco-based developer of cloud-based solutions for clinical trials, has raised $12 million in new VC funding. IFTTT, a San Francisco-based application that creates connections betweenweb applications including Dropbox, Etsy, Facebook, and YouTube, has raised a $7 million Series A round led by Andreessen Horowitz and includes participation from NEA and Lerer Ventures. www.a16z.com

Pluribus Networks, which makes hardware-accelerated network virtualization for private and public cloud datacenters, has closed a $23 million Series C round led by Menlo Ventures and joined by existing investors New Enterprise Associates, Mohr Davidow Ventures, and others. VictorOps, a Lafayette, Colo.-based vertical collaboration platform for development operations groups, has raised nearly $1.59 million in VC funding, according to a regulatory filing. Backers include Foundry Group and Tango. www.victorops.com
